Description:
1,4-butanediol is an important raw material for organic chemical and fine chemical.
1,4-Butanediol is a key raw material for the synthesis of biodegradable plastics such as PBAT and PBS, as well as bio-based polyurethanes and PBT. It also serves as an important precursor for lithium-ion battery electrolytes and electrode coating materials. Bio-based 1,4-butanediol can effectively reduce the carbon footprint of products.

1,4-Butanediol is widely used in various applications, including solvents, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plasticizers, curing agents, pesticides, herbicides, synthetic leather, fibers, engineering plastics, and more.

Application:

1. Chemical Industry

1,4-Butanediol is an important organic and fine chemical raw material used in the production of tetrahydrofuran, Y-butanone, and polyethylene terephthalate. It can also be used to prepare N-methylpyrrolidone, N-vinylpyrrolidone and other pyrrolidone derivatives, as well as vitamin B6 and pesticides. 1,4-Butanediol has good hygroscopicity and flexibility, and can be used as a gelatin softening agent and water-absorbing agent, as well as a treatment agent for glass paper and other unused papers. It is widely used as a solvent, plasticizer, lubricant, humidifying agent, softening agent, adhesive, and brightener in electroplating industries. 


2. Plastic Industry
1,4-Butanediol can be used as a chain extender and raw material for polyesters to produce polyurethane elastomers and soft polyurethane foam plastics. The esters derived from 1,4-butanediol are excellent plasticizers for cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, polyacrylate, and polyester.
