Application:
Sodium Linear alpha olefin sulfonate(AOS powder)is widely used in the daily chemical industry, such as in laundry detergents, composite soaps, dishwashing detergents, and phosphate free detergents; Used for cleaning cosmetics such as shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, etc; Used for industrial detergents such as oil fields, mines, construction, firefighting, textile printing and dyeing; It can also be used as air entraining agent, expansion agent and foam agent for fire fighting in the construction industry.
Application of laundry detergent
The decontamination test showed that LAS and AOS exhibited good synergistic effects in both phosphorus containing and phosphorus free powders.
AOS has good compatibility with enzymes. Comparing the residual enzyme activity in detergent solutions containing domestic protease and imported protease (such as Savnase), it was found that over time, the residual enzyme activity of pure LAS as the anionic active component was lower, while the residual enzyme activity of detergent solutions partially or completely replacing LAS with AOS was higher.
AOS has a good cleaning effect on sebum dirt, oily and powdery dirt. LAS has superior cleaning power for oil/granular materials, while non-ionic substances such as fatty alcohol ethers are most suitable for washing dust, sebum, and dirt. Only by combining the two can a good cleaning effect be achieved.
AOS is particularly suitable for use in phosphate free laundry detergent formulations. AOS has a significant ability to resist hard water compared to LAS, and the combination of AOS and zeolite has a better effect than LAS. Using AOS as a partial replacement for LAS in phosphate free laundry detergent results in less ash deposition, less likely to harden, and yellowing of the fabric after washing compared to using LAS alone.
The application of soap
Adding AOS to soap mainly composed of sodium fatty acid improves various characteristics of the soap, enhances foaming power, improves resistance to hard water, increases flexibility, and is less prone to cracking. Adding AOS can improve the solubility of soap in water, and the wetting power and foam power of soap liquid at low temperature also increase rapidly.
Application of liquid detergent
Due to its characteristics in stain removal, resistance to hard water, viscosity, etc., AOS has a wide range of applications in highly active liquid detergents. Due to the high irritancy of LAS, many washing products no longer use LAS as an active ingredient, while AOS has low irritancy and good biodegradability, making it a more suitable alternative. Due to its certain softness function, AOS can effectively improve the softness effect of the formula in liquid washing of silk and wool clothing.
Application of personal cleaning products
AOS is widely used in shower gel, shampoo, hand sanitizer, and soap based formula systems. The mildness of AOS is comparable to AES, while the irritability of LAS and AS is much greater than that of AOS. Therefore, AOS has a wide range of uses in personal cleaning products. AOS is extremely stable under acidic conditions, and normal human skin is weakly acidic (pH around 5.5), making it suitable as a component of personal washing products. The shampoo with AOS as the main active component has better foaming properties than K12. AOS has the advantages of rapid foaming, delicate and rich foam, easy washing, etc. It has good compatibility with coconut amidopropyl betaine, coconut monoethanolamine, and monoalkyl phosphate in personal cleaning products.
