Synthesis of Diphenyldimethoxysilane
2023-11-24 16:14:42
Diphenyl (diethyl) silane (also known as diphenyl (diethyl) silane) is an organic silicon compound with the chemical formula (C6H5) 2Si (OC2H5) 2
It is a colorless liquid with lower boiling and flash points. It is commonly used as a precursor for organosilicon reagents and silicon-based compounds in organic synthesis and materials science. Due to the presence of benzene ring and ethoxy groups in its molecular structure, diphenyldiethoxysilane can react with other compounds through the cleavage and substitution reactions of silicon oxygen bonds, thereby introducing or transferring organic silicon groups.
One of the main uses of diphenyldiethoxysilane is as a crosslinking agent for silicone rubber and silicone resin. Through cross-linking reactions, it can react with hydrosilanes or siloxanes to form a three-dimensional network structure, enhancing the hardness, strength, and heat resistance of the material. In addition, it can also be used to synthesize other organosilicon compounds, such as organosilicon polymers, organosilicon surfactants, and organosilicon coatings
