Glufosinate-ammonium is a broad-spectrum contact-killing herbicide with a chemical formula of C5H15N2O4P and a chemical formula of 198.16. It has the characteristics of broad herbicidal spectrum, low toxicity, high activity and good environmental compatibility.
When glufosinate-ammonium is sprayed on plants, it can be quickly absorbed into the body through the stems and leaves, and rely on plant transpiration for conduction in the xylem. However, after contacting the soil, it will be rapidly decomposed by the microorganisms in the soil and become invalid, so the roots can absorb little or no glufosinate.
Degradation and Residue
Glufosinate-ammonium can be rapidly degraded in soil by microbial degradation, producing 3-(methylphosphorylidene)propionic acid (MPP) and 2-(methylphosphorylidene)acetic acid (MPA) and releasing carbon dioxide. The leaching in most soils does not exceed 15 cm, and the soil available water content and soil oxygen content have a certain influence on the adsorption and degradation of glufosinate-ammonium. The degradation half-life (DT50) of glufosinate-ammonium is 4-10 days.
