Product description
Trimethylchlorosilane is a colorless and transparent liquid with a pungent odor. When exposed to the air, it easily reacts with moisture to generate hydrogen chloride. Relative density 0.846, melting point -40℃, boiling point 57℃, refractive index 1.3884, flash point -28℃, flammable, toxic and corrosive.

Production method 
Methyl chloride and silicon powder are directly synthesized in the next step catalyzed by cuprous chloride to generate methylchlorosilane mixture, which can be purified by rectification to obtain trimethylchlorosilane and other monomers.

Performance and Application
Trimethylchlorosilane is mainly used as an intermediate in the production of organosilicon polymers and other products, and as a raw material for the production of polymer compound capping agents, desiccants, dehydrating agents, high-temperature adhesives and resins. It is used in the synthesis of cephalosporin I and cephalosporin V in pharmaceutical production.
