The Action and Efficacy of Chloramphenicol
2023-10-17 17:01:10

Chloramphenicol premix is a brown or brownish powder or particle, belonging to the tetracycline class broad-spectrum antibiotic. In addition to acting on Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, it also has inhibitory effects on Klebsiella pneumoniae, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Spirochetes, Actinobacteria, and certain protozoa. Used for promoting growth in broilers and piglets; Treatment of diarrhea in weaned piglets; Treat pig asthma and proliferative colitis.
Mechanism of action
This type of drug belongs to the category of fast acting antibacterial agents. After entering the bacterial body, it reversibly binds to the receptor on the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, interfering with the binding of tRNA to the receptor on the mRNA ribosome complex, preventing peptide chain elongation and inhibiting protein synthesis, thereby rapidly inhibiting bacterial growth and reproduction.
There are two main pathways for aureomycin to enter cells: first, passive diffusion through hydrophilic groups in the outer cell membrane; The second is active transportation by inner cells.
efficacy
1、 Dysentery caused by Escherichia coli or Salmonella, such as yellow and white diarrhea in piglets, and white diarrhea in chickens.
2、 Pig lung disease, avian cholera, etc. caused by Pasteurella multocida.
3、 Control of porcine proliferative colitis (ileitis) caused by intracellular Lawsonia.
4、 Control Leptospirosis caused by Leptospira bomona (reduce the incidence of miscarriage and shedding of Leptospira).
5、 Reduce the incidence of cervical lymphadenitis (jaw abscess) caused by Group E streptococci.
6、 Pig asthma caused by Mycoplasma, chronic respiratory diseases in chickens, etc.
