Diethylenetriamine is a widely used epoxy resin curing agent, detoxifier, emulsifier, and solvent in industry, with strong alkalinity and good water solubility. For example, diethylenetriamine reacts with AFB1 to form a detoxification product, which greatly improves the water solubility of the detoxification product and reduces the AFB1 content in peanut meal
For the conversion of EDA to DETA, the spatiotemporal yield is determined as a function of pressure and temperature, and selectivity is maintained at a constant ratio by controlling the conversion of WHSV. The reaction of EDA is carried out in a fixed bed reactor, which can operate at different pressures and temperatures. The reaction of EDA takes place at different pressures of 17-200 bar. The reaction of EDA is carried out in the presence of hydrogen gas, which is 5 to 0.05 weight% H2 (based on EDA). Al2O3 is used as a catalyst in the disclosed catalyst of DE-A-19 53 263 (BASF AG), consisting of 10wt% CoO, 10wt% NiO, and 4wt% CuO.
