With the continuous increase in the production of domestic tylosin, the application of this antibiotic in veterinary clinical practice in China has become increasingly common. In summary, it is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of the following livestock and poultry diseases.
Mycoplasmal diseases
The specific effect on Mycoplasma is a significant feature of Tylosin, which has become the preferred drug for the prevention and treatment of Mycoplasma related diseases in livestock and poultry. Mainly used for the prevention and treatment of Mycoplasma suis pneumonia (also known as endemic pneumonia in pigs, commonly known as porcine asthma), Mycoplasma gallisepticum infection (also known as chronic respiratory disease in chickens), contagious pleuropneumonia of sheep (also known as Mycoplasma suis pneumonia), Mycoplasma bovis mastitis and arthritis, Mycoplasma bovis agalactis and arthritis, Mycoplasma suis serositis and arthritis, and Mycoplasma avian synovitis.
2 Bacterial diseases
Tylosin has good therapeutic effects on various diseases caused by Gram positive bacteria, as well as some diseases caused by Gram negative bacteria. Mainly used for prevention and treatment in veterinary clinical practice. (1) Various purulent diseases caused by Staphylococcus aureus, such as acute and chronic mastitis in cattle and sheep, dermatitis in sheep and sepsis in lambs, dermatitis and miscarriage in pigs, traumatic infections, abscesses, cellulitis in horses, and gangrenous dermatitis, sepsis, arthritis, and arthritis in chickens. (2) Streptococcus induced mastitis in cattle and sheep, porcine sepsis, arthritis, piglet meningitis, equine adenosis, traumatic infection, and cervicitis. (3) Sheep suppurative caseous lymphadenitis (pseudotuberculosis) caused by Corynebacterium, horse ulcerative lymphangitis, subcutaneous abscess, bovine nephronephritis, mastitis, pig urinary system infection, and pig clostridium enteritis caused by Clostridium type C. (4) Pig lung disease, bovine hemorrhagic septicemia, avian cholera caused by Pasteurella, and Pasteurella disease in sheep, horses, and rabbits. Porcine erysipelas caused by erysipelas suis.
(5) Salmonellosis caused by Salmonella in various livestock and poultry. Various Escherichia coli diseases caused by pathogenic Escherichia coli in livestock and poultry. (6) Chronic atrophic rhinitis caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica in pigs. Tuberculosis of cattle, pigs and chickens caused by Mycobacterium. (7) Abortion and infertility caused by Brucella in cattle, sheep, and pigs. Abortion and infertility in cattle and sheep caused by fetal campylobacter (formerly known as fetal vibrio). (8) Colitis caused by Campylobacter coli (formerly known as Escherichia coli) in pigs and chickens.
3 Spirochemical diseases
Swine dysentery caused by Spirochaeta serpentina and avian spirocheirosis caused by Spirochaeta geese.
4 Anti coccidiosis
Adding tylosin to feed can prevent and treat chicken Eimeria coccidiosis.
