Application of Trifluoropropylmethylcyclotrisiloxane
2023-11-17 16:11:06
Trifluoropropylmethylcyclotrisiloxane, also known as 1,3,5-Tris [(3,3,3-trifluoropyl) methyl] cyclotrisiloxane, is a colorless transparent liquid at room temperature and pressure. Trifluoropropylmethylcyclotrisiloxane is a commonly used industrial organic silicon basic raw material. It is the main monomer for preparing fluorosilicone rubber, fluorosilicone resin, and fluorosilicone oil, and has good applications in the production of various organic silicon polymer materials.
Physical and chemical properties
Trifluoropropylmethylcyclotrisiloxane is a cyclic silicone ether compound with a relatively symmetrical chemical structure. This substance has high chemical reactivity and can undergo copolymerization reactions with various unsaturated double bond compounds to obtain organosilicon polymers with silicon oxygen bond monomers.
Add trifluoropropylmethylcyclotrisiloxane (777.76 g, 1.66 mol, 1.0 equivalent) and dimethyldichlorosilane (236.59 g, 1.83 mol, 1 1 equivalent) and 1,3-dimethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2 (1H) pyrimidinone (2.15 grams, 0.017 moles, 0.01 equivalent). Then, the obtained reaction mixture was vigorously stirred at room temperature in a nitrogen environment for 12 hours, and the resulting crude product was then dissolved in toluene (2 kilograms). Cool the obtained solution to 5 degrees Celsius using an ice bath and introduce excess ammonia gas into the solution. The resulting reaction mixture is stirred for 6 hours in this state. After the reaction is completed, continue stirring the reaction solution at 60 degrees Celsius for 2 hours to evaporate the excess ammonia gas. Then, cool the reaction solution to room temperature and remove the by-product salt through filtration. Subsequently, the solvent is removed from the filtrate by reducing pressure and heating to obtain the product cyclic polysiloxane. [1]
application
Trifluoropropylmethylcyclotrisiloxane is mainly used to prepare organosilicon materials such as fluorosilicone rubber, fluorosilicone resin, and fluorosilicone oil. This substance is one of the main monomers of these materials, and it can form polymer polymers with specific properties through copolymerization or polymerization reactions with other monomers. In addition to being used as a monomer in the preparation of organic silicon polymer materials, trifluoropropylmethylcyclotrisiloxane can also undergo copolymerization reactions with other monomers to form copolymers containing silicon. These copolymers typically have characteristics such as dielectric properties, heat resistance, and chemical stability, and are widely used in fields such as coatings, adhesives, packaging materials, and electronic materials.
